A 16-year-old boy was arrested Tuesday and slapped with an attempted murder charge for allegedly stabbing his classmate during a gruesome attack inside a New Jersey high school, prosecutors said.

The teen, whose name was not released due to his age, is accused of stabbing a 15-year-old male multiple times with a knife after the pair got into a fight inside a bathroom at Fort Lee High School just before 11 a.m. Tuesday, according to the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office.

The young victim, who was found by first responders and school security, suffered numerous stab wounds to the neck, back, arm and chest.

He was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition and is expected to survive.

The school, located just blocks from the George Washington Bridge, was locked down until students were dismissed around 2 p.m., local outlets reported.

Surrounding roads were also closed, with family members asked not to report to the school building, according to a notice issued to parents from the school that was shared on social media.

Cops cuffed the alleged stabber at the grisly scene, prosecutors said.

He is also charged with second-degree aggravated assault, third-degree weapon possession and fourth-degree weapon possession, prosecutors said.

The juvenile is being held at the Bergen County Juvenile Detention Center, pending a closed hearing.

The incident remains under investigation.
