In the past month, Netflix has updated its streaming catalogue with a ton of exciting new shows.
Now, you’re probably thinking to yourself, “How am I possibly going to decide what to watch?” It can be tricky, but that’s what Watch With Us is here for. We took a look at three new popular shows on Netflix right now and see where they fell on the IMDb scale.
Our picks include a popular video game adaptation, a spooky small-town mystery, and a gripping thriller. We endorse all three, but allow IMDb to help you narrow things down.
3. ‘Wayward’ (2025-Present)
IMDb rating: 5.9
Alex (Mae Martin) and Laura (Sarah Gadon) move to the sleepy town of Tall Pines, where Alex takes a job at the local police department. Laura is familiar with the town, having been a former student at the Tall Pines Academy for troubled youths, led by the eccentric, intimidating Evelyn Wade (Toni Collette). When Alex encounters a runaway teen who escaped the school, it leads him down a dark rabbit hole of small-town secrets.
Wayward is a riveting mystery drama with a fantastic, eerie atmosphere — the perfect kind of show to watch in October. Led by a towering performance from Collette, Wayward boasts compelling character development and twists and turns that keep on giving. Blending the supernatural with crime thriller, cults and mind control, Wayward is an entertaining hodgepodge of genre elements that coalesce into a true must-watch.

2. ‘Ángela’ (2025-Present)
IMDb rating: 6.5
This pulpy new thriller centers on a woman, the titular Ángela (Verónica Sánchez), who is stuck in an abusive marriage. Her life seems outwardly perfect, as she lives in a beautiful home with two children and is married to a respected architect. But her husband, Gonzalo (Daniel Grao), is privately controlling and cruel, and he becomes worse when Ángela reports him to the authorities. But a mysterious man from Ángela’s past reconnects with her, and suddenly she has a way out — but it may cost her life.
The six-part Spanish series is based on Angela Black, a British series from 2021. The Netflix remake has been hailed by viewers as supremely suspenseful and engaging, with a mystery that constantly keeps you guessing. The story unfolds in a way that is both rewarding and surprising, and the personal drama is well-written while being conveyed through fantastic performances. With only six episodes, you’ll be finished binge-watching before you know it. It’s a no-brainer why this series instantly cracked the Netflix top 10.
