A small airplane violently crashed on a Utah family’s front lawn, injuring the two people on board and damaging a home, dramatic video shows.

The twin-engine Piper PA-34 went down in front of Anthony Baugh’s home in a residential neighborhood in Roy near the Ogden-Hinckley Airport just before 4 p.m. on Wednesday.

Baugh’s wife, who was home with their children, called him while he was at work describing what happened.

He watched footage of the crash from his home security camera on his phone, which shows the white aircraft skid and grind to a halt right in the front yard, spewing debris across the grass.

“It immediately left me in a panic trying to get home as fast as I could,” he told Fox 13.

His wife ran outside to help the two people on board — the pilot and a passenger — who both suffered minor injuries and were “in shock.”

She “tried to offer them water, they said because they were in shock that they couldn’t get any water or anything right now, but she came out and she saw the gentleman had a cut on his eye or above it on his head and then the young lady just looked like she was in shock,” said Baugh.

One home was damaged as were some trees in the area, according to Roy City Fire & Rescue.

There were no other injuries other than the occupants of the plane.

Neighbor Pat Bouwhuis told Fox 13 she “thought a house had exploded” when she heard the crash.

“I came out front and I saw the airplane over in the driveway two doors down.”

She said she’s lived in the neighborhood for 62 years and has never seen anything like this happen before.

The crash left Baugh’s family shaken, as they had “some family members that passed away in a plane crash a few years ago.”

“It was a little nerve-wracking,” he said.

The identities of the two people inside the plane have not been released.

The Federal Aviation Administration and National Transportation Safety Board are investigating, the FAA said.
