Michael Olise scored twice as Bayern Munich cruised to a 5-0 victory away to Werder Bremen to continue their unbeaten start to the season.

Vincent Kompany, who lost Manuel Neuer to injury in the pre-game warm-up, saw his side utterly dominate the first period, hitting 11 shots while the hosts did not create a single opportunity.

The Bavarians took the lead at the midway point of the half when Harry Kane picked out Olise’s run into the box and the former Crystal Palace man scored with a first-time finish at the near post.

The French winger then produced a mazy run minutes later before setting up Jamal Musiala to tuck the ball in from close range.

Ole Werner brought on Kepe Topp and Derrick John at the break but it did not turn the dial.

Kane made it 3-0 when he traded passes with Olise and slotted the ball into the bottom corner from the edge of the area.

Three minutes later, Olise grabbed his second after placing the ball into the top corner from the edge of the box.

The visitors were not done there and grabbed a fifth when Kane set up substitute Serge Gnabry to score with a trademark low finish from inside the box to emphatically end Bremen’s unbeaten start to the season.

TALKING POINT

Next Saturday’s showdown between Bayern and Leverkusen should be a belter.

Bayern have now scored 20 goals in the past three matches, Leverkusen have netted 13 in their past 4 games but did lose that long domestic unbeaten run recently. It should be a mouth-watering game.

PLAYER OF THE MATCH

Michael Olise (Bayern Munich): He may be only 22 years old but the winger has adapted well to life at Bayern after his summer move from Crystal Palace. His opening goal was a well-taken first time finish. And his second was a belter from long range to cap off a memorable week after his brace in the Champions League in midweek.
