UNRWA teacher’s passport found on Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar after Israeli forces killed him, photos show

The passport of a United Nations Relief and Rehabilitation Administration teacher was reportedly found on the body of Hamas chief Yahya Sinwar — the Oct. 7 mastermind who was killed by Israeli forces on Wednesday, photos show.

An apparent passport that belongs to Hani Zourob — a teacher with the embattled UNRWA — was reportedly discovered Thursday by Israeli officials on the body of the terrorist leader, according to photos posted on X by an Israeli correspondent for KAN News.

It was not immediately clear if the passport was a real or fake document.

The UNRWA has been under fire following reports that at least a dozen of its staffers assisted in the terrorist attack on Israel, but the teacher, who escaped Gaza via Rafah in April, is reportedly living in Egypt, according to the correspondent.

Sinwar was killed by Israeli soldiers in Gaza, along with two other Hamas terrorists who were traveling with him, more than a year after his orchestrated attack on the Jewish state that erupted into war.

Israeli officials confirmed the deaths on Thursday.

An Israeli drone captured the Hamas chief’s last minutes alive as he attempted to throw a piece of wood in a futile attempt to take out the device before he was killed.

IDF Spokesman Rear Adm. Daniel Hagari told reporters on Thursday that Sinwar was likely on the move trying to escape north amid the Israeli military’s advancement in Rafah, where hundreds of thousands of Palestinians had fled to earlier this year.

Sinwar’s death has been hailed by US and Israeli officials as a major blow to Hamas with the potential of ending the war in Gaza and freeing the remaining 97 hostages who were abducted on Oct. 7.
