Investing.com – Brazil stocks were higher after the close on Friday, as gains in the , and sectors led shares higher.
At the close in Sao Paulo, the gained 1.08%.
The best performers of the session on the were Minerva SA/Brazil (BVMF:), which rose 7.54% or 0.41 points to trade at 5.85 at the close. Meanwhile, Cosan SA Industria e Comercio (BVMF:) added 5.38% or 0.52 points to end at 10.19 and Ultrapar Participacoes SA (BVMF:) was up 4.97% or 0.85 points to 17.94 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Atacadao SA (BVMF:), which fell 4.90% or 0.33 points to trade at 6.40 at the close. Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:) declined 3.64% or 1.42 points to end at 37.58 and Lwsa SA (BVMF:) was down 3.36% or 0.13 points to 3.74.
Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the B3 Stock Exchange by 625 to 357 and 50 ended unchanged.
Shares in Localiza Rent a Car SA (BVMF:) fell to 3-years lows; falling 3.64% or 1.42 to 37.58. Shares in Lwsa SA (BVMF:) fell to 3-years lows; losing 3.36% or 0.13 to 3.74.
The , which measures the implied volatility of Bovespa options, was up 9.93% to 31.99.
Gold Futures for February delivery was up 0.34% or 8.99 to $2,673.79 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in January fell 0.84% or 0.58 to hit $68.14 a barrel, while the March US coffee C contract fell 0.94% or 3.05 to trade at $320.00 .
USD/BRL was down 0.68% to 5.97, while EUR/BRL fell 0.45% to 6.32.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.24% at 105.79.
