President-elect Donald Trump floated that his family “could be” the next political dynasty once he leaves office.

“I think there could be, yeah,” the former president said of a Trump dynasty to come in an interview with Time magazine published Thursday.

“I have some very competent members of my family. My kids are very competent,” Trump went on.

The soon-to-be 47th president particularly praised his sons Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump, along with Eric’s wife Lara Trump, for aiding the 2024 campaign.

“I think [Don Jr. would] do well, especially in certain areas,” he said. “I think he’d do very well. I think he’s a very capable guy. Eric is very capable, and a very different type. Lara.”

Donald Trump Jr. is a member of his father’s transition team and was active on the campaign trail, but has previously said he would not want to be in a political duo with Vice President-elect Sen. JD Vance.

“I could never throw my hat in the ring or anything like that,” the younger Trump said in an interview with Axios in July.

“Lara has been amazing,” Trump gushed about his daughter-in-law who he is rumored to be pushing to be Florida’s next senator.

Lara Trump stepped down from her post as Republican National Committee co-chair and said she would be open to Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis appointed her as a replacement senator for Secretary of State pick Marco Rubio.

“Look, she was the head of the Republican Party. She’s a young, a young woman, and she was the head of the Republican Party. And look at the job we did,” Trump said. “This cheating would have been breathtaking, breathtaking. And we, we, we got it down to a minimum. And they cheat, but we got it down to a minimum. They were very effective. The RNC was very, very effective.”

Trump also commented on his oldest daughter Ivanka Trump, who chose to stay away from politics after his first term to spend more time with her children.

“Ivanka would be, if she wanted to be, would be a superstar in politics. I think she, she, she’s a great person. I think she probably, she’s so family-oriented, Ivanka, and I understand that also it makes it more difficult. It makes it definitely more difficult,” Trump said.

“But, you know, they’re very capable people. Well, they have a name, which seems to be a very good name.”

The incoming president did not mention his youngest son Barron Trump who is currently a student at New York University. Fans of Barron have speculated he may have a political future after his father said he’s interested in politics and helped him choose which podcasts to go on during the 2024 campaign.
