Alleged playboy rapists Oren and Alon Alexander will be cooling their heels in federal custody for the time being after they were deemed a flight risk.
The Israeli-American Alexander twins, 37, and their older brother Tal, once wealthy, high-flying real estate brokers who moved in some of the most elite circles in New York and Florida, are facing state and federal charges of sex trafficking and gang rape involving at least 40 women.
They tried to leverage a $115 million loan package as bail that involved some of their parents’ properties as collateral, but were turned down.
After federal prosecutors argued Friday that the brothers were a flight risk and a danger to the community, Southern District of Florida Judge Ellen D’Angelo set a Dec. 20 detention hearing.
At the same time, even more women are coming forward to report being assaulted by one or more of the three brothers, the Miami Herald reported Friday.
A 38-year-old woman identified only as Maria S. went to Miami police Thursday to say Oren Alexander had raped her at the Versace mansion in Miami Beach in 2014.
Another woman in New York told the Herald that the Alexander twins took turns raping her after their birthday party, two years before Maria’s assault.
A third woman, identified only as “Jane,” contacted the Herald just a few days after the brothers’ arrest and said she felt “incredibly guilty” for not reporting the Alexander twins after they took turns raping her at their apartment in Chinatown in Manhattan.
All three brothers were charged in New York with luring, drugging, and violently raping dozens of women for more than a decade. The brothers are eventually expected to appear in Manhattan federal court.
Alon and Oren Alexander also face state charges in Florida stemming from three alleged sexual assaults.
FBI agents arrested the trio on Dec. 11 in Miami.
The trio allegedly raped dozens of victims over the span of a decade, including women they drugged after meeting them at bars and nightclubs, according to the US Attorney’s Office for the Southern District of New York.
Oren and Tal co-founded the posh real estate firm Official in 2022 after working at brokerage giant Douglas Elliman.
Meanwhile Alon has been an executive for Kent Security, which is a successful private security firm started by Shlomy and his wife Orly Alexander, who is the company’s CFO.
Shlomi and Orly Alexander, appeared in court Friday to support their sons, as they have done in previous hearings. Shlomi appeared to smirk at times for the camera, as his son has done at times in court.
If convicted, all three Alexander brothers face up to life in prison. They have denied the allegations, saying through their attorneys that any sex was consensual.
