Meanwhile, MiTAC Holdings Corp (TW:) added 9.94% or 6.60 points to end at 73.00 and Fortune Electric Co Ltd (TW:) was up 8.81% or 46.00 points to 568.00 in late trade.
The worst performers of the session were Harvatek Corp (TW:), which fell 7.61% or 1.75 points to trade at 21.25 at the close. New Asia Construction & Development Corp (TW:) declined 7.32% or 1.35 points to end at 17.10 and United Microelectronics Corporation (TW:) was down 6.40% or 2.75 points to 40.20.
Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Taiwan Stock Exchange by 0 to 0.

Crude oil for March delivery was down 0.04% or 0.03 to $74.59 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in March fell 0.01% or 0.01 to hit $78.28 a barrel, while the February Gold Futures contract rose 0.65% or 18.00 to trade at $2,783.00 a troy ounce.
USD/TWD was down 0.24% to 32.64, while TWD/CNY unchanged 0.40% to 0.22.
The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.29% at 107.55.
