New York GOP Rep. Mike Lawler ribbed President Trump’s expansionist push while singing a revamped version of the Beach Boys’ tune “Kokomo” during a weekend appearance on a CNN comedy show.

“Donald Trump lives by one song. It was a Beach Boys hit back in the day,” Lawler, 38, said on “Have I Got News for You” with comedian Roy Wood Jr.

Pursing his lips and breaking out his best impersonation of Trump, Lawler sang his spoof of the 1988 “Kokomo” that poked at the president’s various overseas ventures.

“Aruba. Jamaica. Panama, I’m going to take ya. Bermuda. Bahama. Greenland, come home to your mama. Key Largo, Toronto. Trudeau, why don’t we go,” Lawler sang with his hands imitating Trump’s famous gesticulations.

“Off the Mediterranean Sea, there’s a place called Gaza Lago. That’s where we’ve got to go to get some USAID.”

The Empire State Republican previously performed a very similar rendition of the tune during his comedic skit at the Washington Press Club Foundation Annual Congressional Dinner earlier this month.

That dinner had taken place just one day after Trump shocked with his announcement that the “US will take over the Gaza Strip” and help rebuild the war-ravaged territory.

Shortly after Trump won the 2024 election, he also began rekindling his interest in dramatically expanding US territory, including by acquiring Greenland, Canada and the Panama Canal Zone.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio and other key administration officials have said that the president is serious about expanding US territorial control.

Lawler has heaped praise on Trump over his efforts to counter New York’s congestion pricing program and his support for raising the cap on the state and local tax deduction.

The congressman is rumored to be contemplating a run for governor in the 2026 elections, speculation he has actively courted over recent weeks.
