Police are hunting a brute who kicked an elderly woman down the staircase of a Queens subway station.
The 72-year-old woman was on a staircase at the Jackson Heights-Roosevelt Avenue station at 11:13 p.m. Saturday when she was kicked from behind, sending her tumbling backward down the staircase, the NYPD said.
It was not clear what might have led up to the attack, which left the victim badly bruised. She was taken to NYC Health and Hospital/Elmhurst for treatment.
The NYPD shared surveillance images late Sunday of the suspect, who is believed to have fled on a northbound F train.
The photos show a dark-haired man wearing a black jacket, red shirt, blue jeans and black and white Nike sneakers.

No arrests had been made as of Monday.
