Last known image of missing Pitt student Sudiksha Konanki shows her cuddling up to a man while walking with friends

A newly emerged last-known image of missing University of Pittsburgh student Sudiksha Konanki shows her cuddling up to a male friend while walking with other pals before she vanished in the Dominican Republic.

The image, taken from a surveillance video, is the last known photograph of Konanki, Noticias SIN reported Tuesday.

It shows the 20-year-old student walking with friends down a path at the Riu Republic Resort in Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic.

Konanki and an unidentified man had their arms around each other’s backs as they strolled with other friends.

It was not immediately clear what time the still was captured; however, authorities said the group was partying at a disco around 3 a.m. before they went to the beach around 4 a.m.

Konanki, a pre-med student and Indian national, traveled with five friends from Pitt to the sunny Caribbean island and was swimming with a “young man” leading up to her sudden disappearance.

She had been with six other people on the beach Wednesday before most of the group called it a night, leaving her on the sand alone with Joshua Steven Ribe, a fellow guest at the Caribbean resort.

Ribe, 24, who traveled to the Dominican Republic from Iowa, gave authorities three different accounts of what happened after the two were alone on the beach, first telling cops he threw up from the rough surf and went back to shore — but asked Konanki if she was OK.

In the second version, he allegedly said he felt sick to his stomach and left the water, last seeing the missing woman in knee-deep surf before passing out.

Lastly, he told authorities he saw Konanki walking along the shore before he passed out in the sand.

Police have not said if they suspect foul play but said Ribe is cooperating with their investigation.

Dominican authorities have speculated that the pre-med student likely drowned after jumping into the ocean in a brown bikini, with some outlets reporting she left her clothes on a chaise lounge at the beach.

Her father, Subbarayudu Konanki, filed a complaint Monday seeking to expand search efforts over his “growing suspicion” that she could be the victim of kidnapping since her body never washed ashore.

The search for Konanki entered the fifth day Tuesday, with missing persons posters describing the young woman as 5 foot 3 with black hair and brown eyes.
