A Florida mom was arrested this week after her 2-year-old daughter was found inside a hospital drugged up and “tweaking” from meth, authorities said.

Debra Scott, 29, took her toddler to an emergency room in Marion County on March 21 and told hospital workers the girl was “acting crazy” and swinging her arms, bouncing off walls and staying up for hours, according to the Levy County Sheriff’s Office.

But a medical exam revealed the toddler had symptoms common with adults who are “tweaking” from the potent and highly addictive drug, officials said.

A lab test determined the helpless girl was high from exposure to methamphetamines or other stimulants, and an additional test showed she suffered from opiate exposure, according to authorities.

Concerned hospital staff immediately called the police.

Scott — who recently moved into a Bronson home with her boyfriend and daughter — saw the symptoms 12 hours before taking the girl to the hospital, according to authorities.

And she never alerted police.

Instead, she called a friend who drove them to a far-away hospital, the sheriff’s office said.

When detectives questioned Scott, she allegedly admitted to recently using meth.

Officials said the troubled mom and girl lived with roommates and the mom’s lover in a home known for drug use.

Scott was arrested Tuesday and charged with felony child neglect, WCBJ reported.

The Levy County Sheriff’s Office slammed the mother in a press release.

“She knowingly put her child at risk and failed to protect the child from dangerous drugs while using dangerous drugs herself.”
