A meticulously documented lawsuit filed in Miami has uncovered a complex and fraudulent scheme involving the theft of a high-value private jet, implicating pilot Aleksandr Buzin, aircraft management company Aviation Consulting Corp. (ACC), and a Utah-based business trust. The lawsuit, which spans multiple jurisdictions including related proceedings in Utah, involves a sophisticated cover-up designed to conceal the unlawful seizure of an Embraer Legacy 650E aircraft owned by Abelia Limited.
Court filings reveal that in early 2024, Abelia entrusted Buzin with the task of locating and negotiating the purchase of a replacement aircraft. However, instead of acting in the owner’s best interest, Buzin exploited this trust to orchestrate a fraudulent transfer of the aircraft into his company’s name, effectively stripping Abelia of its rightful ownership. The owner of Abelia asserts in court filings that Buzin “took advantage of my trust and, through a chain of successive actions, unlawfully seized the Aircraft.”
Further investigation into the court records indicates that Buzin misrepresented his role in the transaction, falsely claiming to be the purchaser. In reality, the funds for the aircraft acquisition were transferred by the Domeltino Foundation in favor of Abelia. As noted in the filings, “Buzin never denies that he did not pay for the Aircraft; indeed, he confirms that the money was transferred by the Domeltino Foundation.” This obfuscation of funds was facilitated through the TVPX 2024-13461 Business Trust, a Utah-based entity used to create an opaque ownership structure, shielding the true beneficiaries and hindering Abelia’s ability to reclaim its asset.
Key evidence supporting these allegations includes a final declaratory judgment issued by Hon. Valerie R. Manno Schurr in Miami-Dade County, which explicitly states, “Abelia Limited is the rightful owner of the 2019 Embraer S.A. Aircraft, Model EMB-135BJ – LEGACY 650E, with Serial Number 14501239” and orders ACC to transfer “all ownership rights of the Aircraft to Abelia Limited and all records of ownership shall be corrected to reflect Plaintiff’s ownership.” Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding confirms that all discussions regarding the aircraft purchase were conducted with Buzin and his attorney, yet Abelia was never informed that Buzin would be named the ultimate beneficiary.
The lawsuit argues these actions are part of a broader, multi-jurisdictional scheme involving ACC and Buzin. Regrettably, ACC continues to list the Embraer Legacy 650E aircraft for sale on its website, further complicating the ownership dispute and raising questions about their involvement. The complex web of transactions and legal maneuvers suggests a deliberate effort to defraud Abelia and undermine the integrity of the aviation management industry.
Given the substantial financial implications and the intricate nature of the alleged fraud, law enforcement agencies are strongly urged to conduct a thorough criminal investigation. The evidence presented in the court filings points to potential criminal conduct, including fraud, misappropriation of funds, and possible money laundering. The roles played by ACC and Buzin in orchestrating this elaborate scheme require immediate and comprehensive scrutiny to ensure accountability and restore trust in the aviation sector.
