Woman shocked at bizarre packaging online order was shipped in: ‘How is this allowed?’

That is one unexpected package.

A UK woman picked up an online order from Vinted, an online marketplace, that she was excited to receive — only to be shocked by what it was shipped in.

Kath Humphreys ordered a few clothing items, like dungarees and cardigans, for her 1-year-old daughter. Upon retrieving it from the InPost locker — a place where people can drop off or pick up packages themselves — she did a double-take.

“When I saw the cereal box, I was gobsmacked,” she told What’s the Jam.

Embarassed, hoping people wouldn’t think she ordered cereal to an InPost locker, Humphreys quickly grabbed the bizarre packaging and ran to her car.

“The clothes are perfect but the packaging is wacky,” the 27-year-old said, also noting that the box was broken.

She found the box to be so unexpected “that it’s funny.”

Humphreys made it a point to complain to the seller. And she even went as far as leaving a review, instructing the seller to ship orders in better packaging going forward.

The mom said that the seller responded back to her, saying, “It was the only thing she could find,” and in turn left her a two-star review as a buyer.

Like many people would do in this unusual situation, the 27-year-old took to social media to share her experience. The photo she shared of the cereal box has received 300,000 views.

While some people agreed with Humphreys — others didn’t understand what the big deal was with the cereal box, as they had items shipped in weirder things.

“I had a top delivered in an old Tesco frozen chip bag,” shared one person.

Another said: “I once got a t-shirt delivered in a Tesco meal deal wrap box.”

“Opened said carrier bag and there was my item in a subway paper bag from a sandwich. I died,” said someone else.

“I don’t mind it. Rather re-use items than more plastic bags,” another wrote.

“Reading the comments was entertaining and I was laughing my head off, but how is it allowed?” Humphreys questioned.

“Do people not keep carrier bags in their house anymore?” she asked.

One person who understood Humphrey’s frustrations wrote: “Considering the box is ripped though, I wouldn’t be giving them five stars.”

“It is funny, but as long as their clothes are okay,” another said.
