Patrick Mahomes’ half-brother, Graham Walker, seems to be following in his sibling’s footsteps.

On Saturday, May 3, Arrowhead Pride confirmed that Walker would be one of the 87 rookies taking part in the Kansas City Chiefs’ rookie minicamp — and hoping to land a contract with the team.

Graham and Mahomes, 29, share father Patrick Mahomes Sr., though Graham grew up with his mother, Jessamyn Walker, and stepfather, Gerry Howatt.

Graham spent three years playing for Brown University, which competes in the FCS sub-division of Division I. Though the COVID-19 pandemic wiped out his first season, he was named a Sophomore All-American by HERO Sports in 2021.

After three seasons with the Bears, Graham, who is also signed with Equity Sports to represent him like his half-brother, transferred to Rice University for his final collegiate season.

“Seeing the track record of guys going to the NFL and the development from the coaching staff just made it an easy choice,” he said at the time, per Marca.

During his season at Rice, Graham was named All-AAC honorable mention at tight end, catching 24 passes for 252 yards while providing support for the Rice Owls running game as a blocker. While in college, Graham noted that Patrick had offered him some words of encouragement and advice.

“I know Patrick has been watching the games, and he’s reached out and said the good things that I’ve been doing,” he told Seven Days in an April interview. “When someone who’s accomplished so much can say you’re doing well, it really feels good.”

In January, Graham announced his plans to join the 2025 NFL Draft, however, he was not selected in April.

Although Graham didn’t grow up with his father and half-brother, he has gotten closer to both of them despite not wanting to be in the spotlight as much.

“He’s a little bit more laid back than the others. Stays away from the spotlight and goes out and grinds and works. But a very impressive young man,” Pat, 54, said in a January 2024 interview with FOX4. “His manners are intact, his stepdad did a great job with him, his mom did a great job with him and now I’m getting the chance to put my hands on him a little more.”

Pat noted that he and Graham connected on their love for sports.

“He’s come to the realization that he has a chance to play in the NFL, so he’s going to try and go out and explore all the possibilities,” he told the outlet. “[He’ll take] whatever road that leads to try to give himself a chance to play at the next level like we all want to.”
