Boston Rob Mariano and Amber Brkich first graced our TV screens in the earliest days of Survivor, when Amber appeared on Survivor: The Australian Outback in 2001 and Rob followed a year later on Survivor: Marquesas.

The two were instantly memorable, leading to them coming back for Survivor: All-Stars, where they ultimately met and fell in love. Their showmance brought them to the final two, with Amber winning the $1 million grand prize and accepting Rob’s live marriage proposal.

Since then, the pair have made a career on reality TV and a family in Pensacola, Florida. Between multiple games of Survivor together, two runs on The Amazing Race and their own Fox reality show, Rob and Amber have continued to document their lives together.

In April 2025, they celebrated 20 years of marriage, with Rob calling them “2 kids that met on an Island.”

November 2003

After Amber placed fifth and Rob placed 10th on their respective Survivor seasons, both came back for Survivor All-Stars. Romantic sparks flew early as they started on the same tribe, but after a tribe switch split them up, Rob cut a deal to keep his love interest safe. Rob later won the final three immunity challenge and took Amber to the final two, ensuring one of the two would win the $1 million grand prize.

May 2004

At the live Survivor All-Stars finale, Amber defeated Rob by a 4-3 vote. Both players went home winners, however, when Rob proposed during the show and Amber accepted.

November 2004

Months after their engagement, Rob and Amber went on The Amazing Race together, finishing as the season 7 runners-up.

April 2005

 

Rob and Amber got married in The Bahamas. CBS aired a two-hour special, Rob and Amber Get Married, one month later.

2006

The couple filmed their reality series Rob and Amber: Against the Odds for the short-lived Fox Reality Channel. The 10-episode series followed Rob’s attempt to become a professional poker player and ended with the couple accepting a spot on The Amazing Race: All-Stars.

November 2006

Rob and Amber returned to The Amazing Race to compete in the series’ All-Star season 11. They were eliminated fourth.

July 2009

Amber gave birth to the couple’s first daughter, Lucia.

December 2010

Just over a year after welcoming Lucia, Rob and Amber welcomed their second daughter, Carina.

May 2011

Rob returned to Survivor solo, outlasting his competitors to win Survivor: Redemption Island, bringing home another $1 million.

May 2012

Rob and Amber welcomed their third baby, daughter Isabetta. Amber told The Hollywood Reporter at the time that the couple thought of the name the year prior but waited until she arrived before deciding.

“We never name our babies until we actually meet them,” she said. “When we saw her for the first time that afternoon, we knew it was the perfect name for her.”

June 2014

Rob and Amber announced the arrival of their fourth daughter, Adelina, via Twitter.

“Lucia Rose, Carina Rose, and Isabetta Rose are beyond excited to welcome their new sister Adelina Rose!” Rob wrote above a picture of his three older daughters marveling at the newborn baby.

May 2019

Rob and Amber returned to Survivor for the show’s 40th season, Winners at War, featuring all players who had previously won the game. Neither fared well, with Amber going out second and Rob being voted out sixth. Both were sent to the Edge of Extinction, where they had a chance to battle their way back into the game, but neither was successful.

May 2023

On Mother’s Day 2023, Rob shared a tribute to his wife and mother via Instagram, posting a photo of Amber with the four kids and a shot of his mom in a carousel.

“Our kids are so lucky to have such a loving, caring, and giving Mom!” he wrote in the caption. “Happy Mother’s Day! ….And to my Mom Linda, Thank You for always being everything to me, Mike, and Heather.♥️…and to all the Great Mom’s out there we salute you all!♥️.”

April 2025

Rob celebrated the couple’s 20th anniversary by posting an old photo of the two of them from their younger days.

“So crazy… 2 kids that met on an Island!🏝️ Happy Anniversary! ♥️ #20Years,” he wrote in the caption.

May 2025

The couple enjoyed some quality time together at the 151st Kentucky Derby. Rob and Amber were all smiles as they posed on the red carpet together.
