Unsurprisingly, the newly released The Bear season 4 is No. 1 on Hulu’s list of films and television series.

That made it the easy choice to lead off this week’s selections for the three popular Hulu movies and TV shows that you should watch right now.

Our other two selections include a documentary about one of the most famous TV personalities of her era, as well as a show about people who overcame the odds to survive.

‘The Bear’ (2025)

Season 4 of FX’s acclaimed comedy/drama The Bear has arrived, with time running out for Carmen “Carmy” Berzatto (Jeremy Allen White). In the wake of his brother’s death, Carmy took over the family restaurant and had a dream of transforming it into The Bear, a fine dining establishment. Carmy’s first hire, Sydney Adamu (Ayo Edebiri), embraced his vision early on, but it took longer for everyone else to get on board.

Unfortunately for Carmy and his crew, their efforts haven’t paid off in increased business or better reviews. Now their investors have given The Bear’s team just two months to turn the restaurant’s fortunes around or else it will be shut down for good. All of the employees, including Carmy himself, have their own personal demons to deal with. But if they can’t come together and find a way through their trauma, then all of their hard work will have been for nothing.

‘Missing Presumed Dead’ (2025)

Not every story has a happy ending, but National Geographic’s new docuseries, Missing Presumed Dead, can guarantee one thing: The profiled subjects on this show came home alive, even if they had to endure harrowing conditions to do so.

This series lets people tell their own stories of survival, including a man who was kidnapped by the Taliban and an entire family who was lost at sea and feared dead. Their accounts are joined with those of the people who found them, and the family members who never gave up hope that they’d return to them.
