Netflix has always been one of the premier streamers for original content, and that title remains unchanged this fall.

One of the most highly anticipated shows of the year is the return and epic conclusion of the platform’s golden series, Stranger Things.

The sci-fi fantasy concludes with its fifth season and is broken up into three volumes of multiple episodes at a time, released separately.

But Stranger Things isn’t the only thing to look forward to on Netflix in the coming chilly months. Watch With Us takes a look at some of the best upcoming original programming.

‘Stranger Things’ Season 5

Nine years ago, a young boy named Will Byers (Noah Schanpp) disappeared from his town of Hawkins, Indiana, taken by supernatural forces into an alternate dimension. Working together, his friends and family searched to free him — and to keep a monstrous force from escaping.

Now, nearly a decade later, the saga of Stranger Things is coming to an end. The fifth season will take place a year after the events of the fourth season and follows our core group as they fight against the evil villain, Vecna. While bittersweet, it will be a joy to hang out with our friends from Hawkins one last time. The series has always been adept at combining genre thrills with heart and humor, and season 5 will likely be no different.

‘Nobody Wants This’ Season 2

This charming original Netflix series starring Adam Brody and Kristen Bell was a big hit in 2024, and a forthcoming second season promises even more rom-com laughs. Brody plays a rabbi named Noah Roklov, while Bell plays Joanne, a sex worker and podcaster. The two form an unlikely bond that becomes something even deeper, as the pair blossoms into the most unlikely of unlikely romances that, of course, comes with its share of problems.

‘Genie, Make a Wish’ Season 1

This brand-new South Korean series is a fantasy rom-com of epic proportions. The series’ first season is set to follow a genie named Iblis (Kim Woo-bin) who has been recently awoken from a thousand-year slumber. Though it’s been a while since he granted his last wish, that all changes when he meets Ka-young (Bae Suzy). Ka-young’s otherwise mundane life is soon totally flipped on its head.

If you’re looking for a creative genre hybrid, Genie, Make a Wish might be the show for you. The series looks to be equal parts hilarious and adorable.

‘Billionaires’ Bunker’ Season 1

If you’re in the mood for a high-concept thriller, then check out the Spanish-language Billionaire’s Bunker. The premise follows a group of billionaires who hide out in an underground bunker when faced with an imminent nuclear threat. However, the claustrophobia proves to be trying, and drama quickly brews between the wealthy escapees.

Despite ostensibly taking place in one location, Billionaire’s Bunker is guaranteed to offer anxiety-inducing thrills and chills, as well as well-developed character drama. It also serves as a timely commentary on the real-life elite building fortresses to prepare for an apocalypse they believe is imminent. There’s even a first-episode twist that you absolutely won’t see coming.

‘Physical: Asia’ Season 1

A regional spinoff of the Netflix reality series Physical: 100, this competition will see the series’ first clash between nations, as eight countries — Korea, Japan, Thailand, Mongolia, Türkiye, Indonesia, Australia and the Philippines — will be facing off against one another in challenges of strength, teamwork and endurance.

Physical: 100 is its U.S. and Italian spinoffs were exhilarating enough, and this new series is set to take things to a whole new level.
