It was the real-life pumpkin poltergeist.

Ohio cops pursued a giant inflatable pumpkin after the towering jack-o’-lantern blew away from a resident’s home under the cover of darkness, according to ghoulish footage.

Pharma Heights cops ran down the rogue decoration in the early hours of Wednesday morning as it kept blowing away and escaping their grasp, according to bodycam footage released by the department.

Ohio cops pursued a giant inflatable pumpkin after the towering jack-o’-lantern blew away from a resident’s home under the cover of darkness.

“And when I went to grab it over here, it just took off,” one officer who tried to snatch the gourd told his amused colleague.

“I was pretty much in pursuit,” he said.

After finally wrangling the giant Halloween decoration, a team of officers struggled and failed to deflate it before giving up and stuffing the orange ball in the back of the police car.

“I’ve never seen that before,” one officer exclaimed as the bumbling pumpking was finally packed away.

“The pumpkin was quickly detained and returned to its owner without incident,” cops wrote in a cheeky Facebook post. “Officers can confirm that Cinderella’s carriage did, in fact, turn back into a pumpkin just after midnight in Parma Heights.”

Last October in Ohio, a police officer was “attacked” by a runaway inflatable pumpkin in a bizarre scene just months after viral footage captured the same cop being chased by wild turkeys during a traffic stop.

The gigantic Halloween decoration blew away from a resident’s yard and blocked two lanes of traffic on a windy day in Bay Village, Ohio.
