A 74-year-old woman was killed and seven others were hurt in a ravaging blaze that tore through an Upper East Side apartment building Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.

The fire broke out on the top floor of a five-story apartment building on East 81st Street between First and York Avenue in Yorkville around 12:30 p.m., according to the FDNY.

Firefighters discovered an wounded, unidentified 74-year-old woman inside the building. She was rushed by EMS to Weill Cornell Medical Center in critical condition, according to the NYPD.

She was later pronounced dead, police said. The city’s medical examiner will determine the cause of her death.

Four other civilians and three firefighters were taken to area hospitals with minor injuries, authorities added.

The deadly blaze was under control by 1:22 p.m., according to the FDNY.

The cause and origin of the fire remain under investigation, officials added.
