Charlie Puth has the honor of singing “The Star-Spangled Banner” at Super Bowl LX.
“It’s a very musically difficult song to sing,” Puth said during a February 2026 press conference ahead of the Apple Music Super Bowl LX Halftime Show. “You’re hitting five more notes about the octave, and that’s incredibly difficult. I think it’s important not to over-sing it.”
Puth said that despite the song’s difficulty, he hopes Super Bowl 60 viewers will “feel inspired” by his rendition of the United States national anthem.
“I want everybody to know that music is such an amazing thing and can change so many people’s lives,” he said. “Other than food, it’s the thing … that everyone loves music. I haven’t met some who didn’t love music. I just think it can color every aspect of your day so vividly, and it’s such an honor [to sing the national anthem].”

When I’m just typing something out, it doesn’t feel like there’s as much personality to it.”

Baby arrives, and then, album arrives. I don’t know how you time something like that.”
While speaking with ET, Puth teased that he had “strict instructions” from Sansone not to share their list of potential baby names.
“She was like, ‘Remember, don’t tell anybody,’” he quipped. “So, following the wife’s instructions. It’s a surprise for everybody, except us, we know.”
