Model Jessica White has suggested that there’s a “double standard” between men and women when it comes to bisexuality.
“I would also say it’s OK for a girl to kind of be bi, but if a man does it?” White, 41, trailed off during an interview with TMZ on Wednesday, March 4.
The Victoria’s Secret runaway model was asked to name “something that’s fine when a girl does it but an ick when a guy does it.” White initially answered that “baby talk sure” is “an ick for guys” before delving into her thoughts about bisexuality.
“Well, I feel that double standards exist for all of us,” she argued. “Women have more ability to explore their sexuality — I believe.”
Us Weekly has reached out to White’s representatives for comment.
Her comments were divisive on social media, with one Instagram user insisting: “People can do what they want, you don’t have to like it.”
“Imagine telling GROWN people with free will what is acceptable,” another viewer responded, while a third asking, “Why is it ok for a woman but not a man?”
White has spoken about her own “polyamorous” relationship with her former boyfriend Nick Cannon, whom she split from in 2020. During a Love & Hip Hop: Atlanta episode that aired in 2023, White said she’d recently gotten out of an “an eight-year relationship” where Cannon saw other women.
“I wasn’t allowed to have other partners but he was,” she claimed.
Prior to the Love & Hop Hop: Atlanta scenes airing, White addressed reports that Cannon, 45, was not happy with the way she’d characterized their relationship on the show.
“I know you’re upset about the show but after eight years I can’t stand when things catch you off guard,” she wrote in a since-deleted Instagram post in June 2023. “And I feel like you deserve way more respect as a man even though I may be more respectful than you ever gave me with public announcements.”
White remembered that she’d “prayed every day that [Nick would] see me and love me the way that I loved” him.
“Maybe you did but just kept it from me during the relationship,” she wrote, before later acknowledging, “The truth is [Cannon] and I were both beautifully broken when we were children and didn’t know how to love each other. Instead we hurt each other.”
The Famously Single star insisted that she’d come away from the relationship “with more questions than anything.”
“I didn’t always feel good, like [Cannon] was proud to have me as a partner,” she wrote at the time.
That same month, White admitted that she regretted her post about Cannon but was looking forward to “healing” in a new relationship.
“I am putting myself out there,” she shared. “Part of my healing process is not sitting back and waiting to be fully healed … nobody ever really is. I can’t wait to make love and have a baby soon. Oh yeah, I am all for it.”
In October 2025, White confirmed to Ebony that she’d recently got engaged to artist Nathan Wong after a whirlwind one-month romance. Wong planned a romantic beachside proposal and popped the question with an elegant diamond ring.
“We made vows to each other that it’s us or nothing [forever],” White told the publication of their engagement.
