90 Day: The Single Life star Liz Woods is hoping she finally found a special someone to discuss her cancer diagnosis with.
In Us Weekly’s exclusive sneak peek of the Monday, March 9, episode of TLC’s reality show, Liz, 33, sits down with her new love interest named Villa.
“I’m definitely here to, like, work on my mental health, and I don’t share with a lot of people, like, how I’m sick right now,” she shares while trying to hold back tears. “It’s about a year ago I found out that I had ovarian cancer when I miscarried a baby, which also makes my past really hard because that’s how I thought I was going to, like, build a relationship with.”
After her last breakup, Liz explains that she’s scared of what her future boyfriends will think of her health struggles.
“I kind of just ripped the Band-Aid off of my relationship, and I just really felt like I just went on the whole journey by myself of being sick,” she shares. “I’m definitely scared that, like, my sickness can push someone away. Do I date? Do I put myself out there? Is someone going to leave me because of it? Is someone not going to be ready to take on everything that I come with?”
Fortunately, Villa appears to be a mature man who can tackle difficult conversations with empathy and grace.
“It’s a lot for you to take on, but I’m glad you brought it up now,” he says in the clip. “I’m glad you were able to share that with me. It means a lot.”
In February, Liz announced via Instagram that doctors found another cancerous mass on her ovaries. The next step is a hysterectomy. She has since disabled comments on her social media posts.
“Villa coming to the bar last night really just made me feel safe, and he is becoming someone that I feel like I can trust,” Liz says in Monday’s new episode. “It makes me feel like I want to share something with him that I’ve been holding on to.”
Fans were first introduced to Liz when she appeared in the 90 Day Fiancé franchise alongside ex Ed “Big Ed” Brown. The former couple were known for being on and off, having broken up more than 11 times on screen.
This season on 90 Day: The Single Life, Liz is determined to reclaim joy after a life-changing health battle. Along the way, she will find herself torn between a surprising new connection abroad and unfinished business back home.
Watch all the drama unfold when 90 Day: The Single Life airs on TLC Mondays at 9 p.m. ET.
