Southern Charm’s Austen Kroll is giving an update on his relationship with Salley Carson.
Austen, 38, and Salley, 31, were seen getting close on the latest season of the Bravo reality show, following Austen’s split from Audrey Pratt. (Austen and Audrey dated for around two years before splitting in 2025.)
The Trop Hop founder was quizzed about whether he and Salley are an item during an appearance on the Wednesday, March 11, episode of Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, where he suggested that things between them aren’t super serious.
“Salley and I are close, and she knows that when we got back from Mexico, it was like, ‘Hey, I’m still newly single and I need time,’ and it’s still kind of like that,” Austen said. “We’re just really good friends, to be totally honest.”
As his costars Shep Rose and Craig Conover began laughing, Austen added, “Salley is obviously, like… she has done lots of interviews, making it seem like we’re actively hot and heavy, and it’s just not true.”
Shep chimed in, “I can attest that’s not true. But they are friends, absolutely. We all are.”
“Yeah, friends who f***,” quipped host Andy Cohen, to which Austen clarified, “We don’t f***, Andy!”
During season 11 of Southern Charm, Salley admitted that she wanted “Austen’s f***ing d***,” and doubled down during a February episode of the “Not Skinny But Not Fat” podcast.
“I was just being honest. Can you blame a girl?” Salley said.
“Yeah. I’m still feeling him. I get giddy when I talk about him,” Salley said, adding that she and Austen were not “a thingy thingy.”
Salley went on to say that she was looking for a “serious” romance, suggesting that Austen could be the guy for her “but not right now.”
“I think we have such a good friendship and we rely on each other a lot and we support each other a lot. I think we both like what we have right now,” she said, insisting that they have “just a really good friendship.”
“I don’t really think we’re ready for each other right now,” she said later. “It could be something in the future. I do think that.”
While Salley has had her eye on Austen, she said she “never made a move” on him while he was dating Audrey.
“He was so respectful of Audrey during their relationship,” she said. “We were friends. I wanted to go to lunch with him one day. He was like, ‘We have to invite someone else too. I can’t go to lunch with you one on one while I’m in a relationship.’”
As for the future, she said, “If I got a boyfriend, I think he’d be annoyed, and if he got a girlfriend, I’d be annoyed.”
