Joseph Duggar and his wife, Kendra Duggar, welcomed four kids before he was arrested in 2026.
Joseph was featured on TLC’s 19 Kids and Counting alongside his large family, including parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar. The show’s spinoff, Counting On, later captured him forming a connection with Kendra when they began courting in 2017.
“I’ve known Kendra for about five years now and we met at their church. We’ve been talking for close to six months. I guess we would call it more of a friendship stage,” he explained during a 2017 episode. “I’m nervous to enter into a courtship. That’s always something that every guy should be nervous about.”
The couple got engaged two months later and tied the knot at the end of 2017. They have since expanded their family with sons Garrett and Justus and daughters Addison and Brooklyn.
After sharing highlights from their life as a family of six, Joseph and Kendra’s joint social media account went inactive in 2021. Five years later, Joseph was arrested after being accused of unlawful sexual activity with a minor.
According to a press release from the Bay County Sheriff’s Office, investigators were contacted by a detective from the Tontitown Police Department in Arkansas about a report of past sexual abuse. A 14-year-old girl recalled several alleged incidents involving Joseph when she was 9 years old.
The girl was on a family vacation in Panama City Beach, Florida, in 2020 when Joseph allegedly asked her to sit on his lap and “grazed her genitals” while under a blanket. Joseph eventually apologized for his actions and no further incidents occurred. According to authorities, the victim’s father confronted the former reality star in March 2026, and Joseph admitted his actions to both the father and to Tontitown detectives.
Joseph’s brother Josh Duggar was previously arrested for a sex crime in 2021. The eldest Duggar sibling pleaded not guilty to charges of receipt and possession of child pornography. He was later sentenced to 151 months in prison, which he is still currently serving.
Joseph, for his part, is currently awaiting extradition to Bay County. His wife and family have not publicly addressed his arrest.

Garrett David
The couple’s first child, son Garrett David, was born in 2018. According to the Duggar family website, Garrett is a “deep thinker” with a “serious personality” who enjoys playing with trucks and cards.
Addison Renee
Joseph and Kendra Duggar expanded their family with daughter Addison Renee in 2019.
“She made a quick arrival in the early hours of the morning and has already melted our hearts,” they told Us Weekly at the time. “We know Garrett is going to be a great big brother. Children are each a special gift from God and we are so happy our newest blessing is here.”
The family website referred to Addison as a “bundle of joy” who “enjoys following her big brother around, trying new foods and holding baby dolls.”
Brooklyn Praise
Joseph and Kendra Duggar’s daughter Brooklyn Praise arrived in 2021, with the couple announcing at the time that they were “feeling so grateful and blessed.”
Justus Joseph
By the end of 2021, Joseph and Kendra Duggar stopped using social media. It has been reported that son Justus Joseph was born in spring 2022.
