McDonald’s is popping off with their new beverages.
The fast-food giant announced its first-ever line of refreshers and “dirty sodas.”
Earlier this month, reports confirmed the addition of new drinks such as energy drinks and specialty sodas as part of a broader overhaul of its cold drinks menu at US restaurants, but this new announcement confirms what’s to come and when.
Starting May 6, McDonald’s is building on the “special connection” fans have with their drinks with the launch of six new specialty drinks, including three new refreshers and three crafted sodas coming to restaurants nationwide.
“Our fans have an obsession with beverages – to them, drinks are more than just drinks. And soon, our beverages won’t just be a reason you come to McDonald’s, they’ll be the reason,” Alyssa Buetikofer, Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer at McDonald’s USA, said in a statement.
“We’ve taken the time to get this right, introducing new drinks that are hand-crafted with bold flavors and quality ingredients our fans can taste in every sip. Only McDonald’s can bring that kind of experience to life consistently across nearly 14,000 restaurants, every single day.”
The full lineup of new drinks include:
- Strawberry Watermelon Refresher: A blend of sweet strawberry and watermelon flavors with a lemonade base, plus freeze‑dried strawberries for an extra burst of flavor and “visual flair.”
- Mango Pineapple Refresher: A mix of tropical mango and pineapple flavors with a lemonade base and strawberry popping boba for a juicy burst of flavor.
- Blackberry Passion Fruit Refresher: Bold blackberry and passion fruit flavors with lemonade, along with freeze‑dried dragon fruit for a touch of sweetness and a pop of color.
- Sprite Berry Blast: Sprite infused with a sweet blue raspberry syrup and topped off with decadent cold foam.
- Orange Dream: A twist on the fan-favorite Hi‑C Orange Lavaburst at McDonald’s mixed with a hint of vanilla flavor and finished with cold foam for a smooth citrus sip.
- Dirty Dr Pepper: The classic Dr Pepper flavor with a vanilla flavor and a cloud of cold foam to create a rich finish.
Guillaume Huin, senior marketing director for McDonald’s USA, said on X that restaurants are already “starting to train and prepare for the big day” — so some customers may be able to order and try the new lineup in some McDonald’s locations “as early as today.”
Huin said that fans can check their McDonald’s app to see if the drinks are available at their location.
“McDonald’s drinks have always been special, but this is taking us into a new era,” he wrote.
To celebrate the new lineup, McDonald’s teamed up with designer Susan Alexandra to drop six limited-edition beaded drink carriers, and each carrier comes with a $10 McDonald’s Arch Card so fans can grab the drink to put in their new beaded bag.
Carriers will be available for purchase on Susan Alexandra’s website starting May 6, while supplies last.
And McDonald’s has even more brewing. As reported earlier this month, the company’s upcoming lineup of energy drinks, including a Red Bull Dragonberry Energizer, are expected to be added to menus starting in August.
