Meghan Markle is celebrating her and Prince Harry’s wedding anniversary with some never-before-seen photos.
“Eight years ago today,” Meghan, 44, captioned two Instagram posts on Tuesday, May 19. In the first, the Suits alum and Harry, 41, are solo on the dance floor at their wedding as they appear to take on their first dance.
Meghan’s arms are around Harry’s neck in the first photo, but their movement is shown throughout the series of pictures. One image had the couple locked in a romantic kiss.
The second set of photos Meghan posted on Tuesday was a behind-the-scenes look at her and Harry’s royal wedding. She posted photos from inside St. George’s Chapel at Windsor Castle as the couple prepared to get their official wedding portrait taken. There was also a photo of Elton John performing at the ceremony, along with images from the speech Harry made to family and friends.
The final image Meghan posted featured her and Harry sharing a sweet kiss.
Harry and Meghan met in 2016 and after two years together, they wed in a highly publicized ceremony that took place in May 2018. The wedding kicked off the beginning of their next chapter together. However, nearly two years after they tied the knot, the couple departed from the royal family and relocated to America, where they’ve been living ever since with kids Prince Archie, 7, and Princess Lilibet, 4.
“[Harry is] someone who just has this childlike wonder and playfulness,” Meghan told Harper’s Bazaar of her husband in a November 2025 interview. “I was so drawn to that, and he brought that out in me. That’s translated into every part of our life. Even in business, I want us to play and have fun and explore and be creative.”
Meghan told the publication that Harry still loves her “so boldly” and “fully.” She added, “No one in the world loves me more than him, so I know he’s always going to make sure that he has my back.”
Both Meghan and Harry have spoken candidly about their relationship since their decision to live a more private life in Montecito, California.
“I enjoy living [in the U.S.] and bringing my kids up here, it’s a part of my life that I never thought I was going to live and it feels as though it’s the life that my mom wanted for me,” Harry said during the New York Times’ DealBook Summit in December 2024.
Harry said his “main goal” since relocating to America is to be “the best dad and best husband.”
“It is becoming increasingly hard for people that have values and principles as the world starts to change,” the Duke of Sussex noted. “But the thing I want to be known for is that, ‘He stuck to his values and always stayed true to that principle.’”
