Before summer concludes and the weather cools, TLC is bringing back two of its most beloved series — 1000-Lb. Sisters and 1000-Lb. Roomies — just in time for hibernation season.
In Us’ exclusive reveal of the 1000-Lb. Sisters season 9 trailer, Tammy Slaton and Amy Slaton are ready for more wild and unpredictable adventures as their sibling relationship enters a new phase.
“Me and Tammy are taking things slow. We’re still rebuilding trust,” Amy, 38, shares in the sneak peek. “I’m focusing on my own goals. I want to get skin removal, and I’m ready to learn how to drive. This is Amy 2.0 bitches.”
While Tammy, 39, acknowledges that “it’s going to take time to get that bond back” with her sister, she’s focused on saying “yes” to new opportunities, like horseback riding and a proposal from Andrea Dalton.
Drama appears to be on the horizon, though, as Amy starts exploring a new career by transforming her poetry into original songs with the help of AI-generated songwriting. While some family members are quick to express their skepticism, the TLC reality star is only interested in hearing supportive feedback.
“When I become rich and famous, don’t come crying to me,” Amy warns. “Do not darken my doorstep.”
Us can also exclusively confirm the return of 1000-Lb. Roomies. Best friends and roommates Jasmine “Jaz” Wallace and Nesha Harris are ready to navigate life’s highs and lows while continuing their individual health journeys.
“It’s been six months since my surgery,” Jaz reveals in the new trailer while referencing her gastric sleeve surgery. “I’m doing everything I can to try and lose weight. I really have to make sure I’m staying active because I want to feel cute. I want to feel sexy.”
As for Nesha, she’s busy launching her event planning business, hosting a speed-dating event and confronting the lasting impact of growing up in a religious cult.
“I am doing everything,” she says in the preview. “I have so much anxiety about my health, money, Jaz’s health. I feel like yoga is how all the skinny girls get a little peace.”
According to TLC, both 1000-Lb. Sisters and 1000-Lb. Roomies continue to showcase the resilience, determination and relationships at the heart of each weight-loss story. Together, the shows deliver emotional milestones, unexpected challenges and plenty of humor along the way.
Mark your calendars as the new season of 1000-Lb. Roomies returns to TLC Tuesday, August 25 at 10 p.m. ET, followed by the return of 1000-Lb. Sisters on TLC Tuesday, September 1 at 9 p.m. ET.
