It’s a monster mash-up.

A brand-new Happy Meal is crashing into McDonald’s with a few unexpected characters. The fast-food behemoth just rolled out its “Hello Kitty and Friends x Godzilla” collab on menus today.

Each limited-time meal comes with one of eight toys in a brand new blending of Sanrio’s Hello Kitty characters and the monsters from the Godzilla movies. The chain said its newest Happy Meal toys are “the ultimate crossover where Kawaii meets Kaiju, making friends at first bite and proving that even the mightiest monsters have a soft side.”

Hello Kitty — who’s actually a little girl and not a cat — was created back in 1974 by Sanrio, a Japanese entertainment company. Back in 1954, Godzilla first appeared in a Japanese film “Gojira.”

Two years later in 1956, it was adapted for American audiences in the film, “Godzilla, King of the Monsters.” Fans quickly became obsessed, and five American-made Godzilla movies have since been released.

The offering features the classic McDonald’s Happy Meal, where customers choose between the burger or nuggets and sides. Where kids — or adults — really get into the action is by grabbing eight toys. Just note that prices may change based on location.

Fans can try and score one or all of the following toys:

  • Hello Kitty x Godzilla
  • Kuromi x Mechagodzilla
  • My Melody x Mothra
  • Keroppi x King Ghidorah
  • Pompompurin x Gigan
  • Batz-Maru x Rodan
  • Chococat x SpaceGodzilla
  • Cinnamoroll x Destroyah

Guillaume Huin, McDonald’s senior marketing director, called the collection one of his favorites ever.

The collection is only available for a limited time at participating locations.

Fans from all over the world flooded to the comment section already going crazy over the new collab. One user on X wrote, “Y’all outdid yourselves with this one. Now I just need to figure out how to get my hands on these from the UK.”

Another said on Instagram, “We want this international!!”

The burger joint is always cooking up something special for its Happy Meal lovers. Back in July, McDonald’s dropped its BT21 Universe for an “out-of-this-world experience.”

The BT21 Universe is the official fictional storyline and behind-the-scenes video series for a global character brand that was co-created by the K-pop group BTS and LINE FRIENDS. The Happy Meal gave fans a “passport to the BT21 Universe, where love, friendship and music comes to life,” the release said.

Each meal came with one of 10 toys featuring a BT21 character with a ring clip. Music lovers could also scan the QR code from the box to “let your inner artist flow” with one of the characters.

Folks could create different tracks and bring their performance to life online.
