Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum Teddi Mellencamp has reached a turning point in her relationship with the affectionately nicknamed “Valley Guy.”
“I’m a total freaking mess, Dolores [Catania],” Teddi, 45, admitted to her “Two Ts in a Pod” cohost at the beginning of their Friday, October 30, episode. “I feel ridiculous that I’m even crying, but I went out with the Valley Guy last night and we had, really, a good time at dinner and then, after dinner, he’s like, ‘Should we talk about the future?’”
Teddi has been dating a mystery man known as “Valley Guy” since this summer and following her 2024 separation from ex Edwin Arroyave.
“I was like, ‘I don’t, you know, I just talk day to day to be perfectly honest. I don’t know if I’m going to be alive in the future,’” Teddi recalled of her conversation with her unnamed boyfriend, referring to her ongoing cancer battle. “I just am enjoying where I’m at, you know?”
When her boyfriend asked where their relationship stands, the Bravo alum tried to gently explain her perspective.
“I was really nice about it. Everything was lovely about it, but I said, ‘You show me that you like me by your actions. You make a nice effort, you always open the doors, you’re very chivalrous. I’ve met your parents, I’ve met your roommate, like, I feel comfortable,’” she said. “He’s the person I wake up and talk to every day. He’s the person I text with at night. Like, anytime anything comes up, that’s the person I’ve been communicating with.”
While Teddi and Valley Guy have only been together for four months, she explained that their relationship feels as though it had lasted longer given her cancer battle.
“I’m living in this very weird state of my life where I don’t know myself anymore and I’m trying to become the new me … and love her too, even though she’s very different,” she noted. “He said to me, like, ‘I feel bad that you would say that.’ I said, ‘Sometimes I hold back my feelings because I don’t want to scare you away.’”
When Valley Guy pressed for an update on their romantic future, Teddi decided not to hold her emotions in any further.
“I’m like, ‘Well, what are you thinking about? This is where I need you to step in because I’m in
a completely different place in my life.’ I’ve got four kids, I live in a house. Life is just very different for me,’” she stated. “I know where my life is going. … I knew we were in a different place in our lives, and so he was like, ‘That’s why I want to know, what do you see for a future with us?’ I was like, ‘Really, I just want a companion.’”
Calling Valley Guy “my person,” Teddi tearfully noted their paths were diverging.
“He goes, ‘I feel so terrible that I can’t give you those things anymore, like, I can’t give you any more than what I’m giving you because I don’t see a future,’’ Teddi explained of their conversation. “That was just, kind of, his standing point.”
