In a candid discussion about grieving the death of Stephen “tWitch” Boss, Allison Holker’s daughter Weslie broke down in tears thinking about her younger siblings’ future.

“When my siblings grow up, I don’t want them to be, like, ‘[You’re] not biologically related to him.’ I’m going to be, like, ‘We’re his kids and we didn’t get to experience him,’” Weslie, 16, tearfully said on the Sunday, April 20, episode of her and Holker’s “Between Us” podcast. “My biggest fear is that they grow up and they end up resenting, not only him, but us for experiencing it. I don’t want that to happen at all. I’d rather put my feelings aside for them.”

Weslie is Holker’s daughter from a previous relationship, who grew up with Boss after he married the Dancing With the Stars alum in 2013. Holker, 37, and Boss later welcomed son Maddox and daughter Zaia in 2016 and 2019, respectively, before Boss died by suicide in December 2022.

Holker jumped in to console Weslie, stressing that Maddox and Zaia will “get to have us” as they navigate their own grief.

Honoring her dad. Allison Holker‘s daughter Weslie Fowler is mourning the passing of adopted father Stephen “tWitch” Boss. Fowler, 20, took to social media on Monday, February 20, to share a TikTok video of her in front of a mirror with Mac Miller‘s song “Surf” playing in the background. She captioned the post, “I miss […]

“They get to have you as their big sister,” Holker said. “You’re so aware of these feelings, but I don’t want you to ever harp on that and live from that. … They’re not going to resent you. They’re gonna wish that they had these kinds of moments with him, but they’re going to love that you’re teaching them and you’re loving them in that same way [and] presenting that same energy that he would have had onto them.”

Weslie, meanwhile, is aware that her siblings will always have affection for her but is more concerned about “what it’s like to not have that father figure.” (Weslie has a distant relationship with her biological father, who lives in another state.)

“I had a dad who I wasn’t around as often, and I wish I could have been,” Weslie said. “To know the small scare compared to what they’re going to experience on a big scale already, it’s, like, I’m already hurt for them and they don’t even know the gravity of it.”

According to Weslie, it will “suck” that both Maddox and Zaia won’t have a strong paternal presence in their lives as they reach adolescence.

“I know Maddox just wishes that there was someone that he could look up to that’s just not always talking about makeup,” Weslie quipped. “We try to learn about basketball and try to be in the know with him, but it’s hard. I just wish he had that.”

Holker, meanwhile, noted that she and Weslie will “always” be there for Maddox and Zaia.

“I think, for me as a mother, my biggest want for them and for you is to make sure that you never feel, like, this decision was ever your fault or anything that could have been controlled by a decision that you made,” Holker said. “And just knowing that this part of life is not the defining moment of who we are, because we are still here. We still get to have such a beautiful life.”
