Anna Camp Addresses Critics of 18-Year Age Gap With Girlfriend Jade Whipkey: ‘More Mature’

Anna Camp clapped back at criticism of her 18-year age difference with her new girlfriend, Jade Whipkey.

“I’ve dated men exactly my age and Jade is FAR more mature than any of them,” Camp, 42, wrote via Instagram comment on Friday, June 20, addressing speculation about the stylist being 24 years old. “We have more in common than anyone else I’ve ever dated and can literally talk about anything and everything ♥️.”

She added, “Everyone is entitled to their opinion, and I’m wishing everyone well, especially this Pride month 🌈.”

Camp and Whipkey were first romantically linked earlier this year, making their red carpet debut at the Wednesday, June 18, premiere of the actress’ new movie, Bride Hard. Camp first confirmed her new relationship during a February social media interview alongside Whipkey.

“Well, I don’t expect anything anymore because I like women and it’s great,” Camp said at the time, reflecting on her worst dating experiences. “I left a date once because a guy was, like, 45 minutes late, and I stayed and waited. Then he said that I was prettier in a movie than I was in person, because I’m an actor, and I was like, ‘OK, bye.’”

Later during the interview, Camp joked that being “married to a guy” by the age of 30 was one of life’s biggest conspiracies.

“That in order to be happy, you have to be married to a guy, with children, at, like, 30 or something,” she said at the time. “That’s a conspiracy. That’s not true. I grew up in the South, and people told me that I basically had to do that.”

Camp was married to Michael Mosley from 2010 to 2013 and her Pitch Perfect costar Skylar Astin from 2016 to 2019. She now remains on amicable terms with her exes, revealing on a May episode of the “Podcrushed” podcast that she occasionally chats with Mosley, 46, post-divorce.

“It was like an out on the town [night] in Union Square with a couple of friends,” she said last month, revealing how she met Mosley in New York City when she was 21. “I was not planning [on it]. … So we met very young. It was like a one-night stand that lasted seven years. I was not planning [on it]. … So we met very young. It was like a one-night stand that lasted seven years. I changed so much when we both moved from New York to L.A. together.”

Camp continued, “So, to have it just not be working at all and having us be totally different people, that was really, really, really hard. That was definitely a heartbreak of mine.”
