Big Brother 27 alum Mickey Lee is in the ICU after suffering from flu-related cardiac arrests.
“Mickey recently suffered a series of cardiac arrests following complications from the flu and is now in the ICU in critical but stable condition,” read an announcement from Mickey’s Instagram page on Monday, December 22. “She has been surrounded by medical professionals and loved ones, but the road ahead will be long and challenging.”
The post shared that Mickey’s loved ones created a GoFundMe page to help support her and her family during this challenging time.
“This sudden health crisis has left Mickey and her family facing enormous emotional and financial strain from mounting hospital bills to ongoing care and recovery costs,” the post continued.
Donations received through the GoFundMe will help cover Mickey’s “medical expenses not covered by insurance, ICU and specialist care, rehabilitation and recovery support, family travel, lodging” and other related costs.
“Every donation no matter the size will go directly to Mickey’s care and help ease the burden on her loved ones during this difficult time,” the message read.
In addition to donations, Mickey’s loved ones also asked for “prayers, positive energy, and healing thoughts for Mickey.”
“Mickey has touched so many lives through her courage, bold personality, and unforgettable presence on Big Brother. Let’s show her the same love and support now when she needs it most,” the post read. “Thank you for your generosity, prayers, and support. ❤️”
The GoFundMe has earned more than $6,000 from over 100 donors at the time of publication. The fundraiser has a goal of $13,000.
Mickey, 35, was best known for competing on the most recent season of Big Brother. She made waves after dethroning Rylie Jeffries’ Head of Household when she used her “HoH Interrogation” power in week four. Mickey eliminated one of Rachel Reilly’s closest allies, Jimmy Heagerty, putting a huge target on her back. Mickey was subsequently nominated for eviction three times, but was able to remain in the competition due to her ability to win challenges. Her luck ran out in week eight, when she was evicted in a 6-1 vote, coming in tenth place.
Several of Mickey’s former houseguests shared their support for Mickey amid her health battle.
“Prayers Mickey 🙏🙏🙏 thinking about you and your family,” Rachel wrote in the comments section, while Jimmy replied, “Praying for an easy and smooth recovery 🙏🙏.”
Lauren Domingue, Adrien Rocha, Zach Cornell, Katherine Woodman and Amy Bingham also sent their well wishes. In addition to Mickey’s season 27 costars, several additional Big Brother alums expressed their sympathies.
“Oh my. Prayers for you and the family,” Big Brother 26 winner Cheslie Baham wrote, while season 20 alum Angela Brooke “Rockstar” Lantry responded, “Oh my I’m so sorry to hear this! Praying for a speedy recovery 🙏💖.”
Leah Peters, Quinn Martin, Cameron Hardin, Azah Asasum, Ameerah Jones, Britini D’Angelo and more sent their prayers as well.
Survivor legend Cirie Fields’ son, Jared Fields, who competed on Big Brother season 25 alongside his mom, also wished Mickey a speedy recovery, writing, “Sending my Prayers and love🤞🏾🫶🏾.”
