A parade honoring Martin Luther King Jr. quickly spiraled into chaos when a fight broke out leading to an alleged stabbing in Los Angeles Monday.
Units from the Los Angeles Police Department were called to the intersection of Stocker Street and Crenshaw Boulevard after reports say a 40-year-old man was stabbed after a fight involving several people just before 2 p.m.. As a crowd grew around the scene, multiple fights reportedly broke out in adjacent streets, according to police.

In response, officers formed a skirmish line and issued dispersal orders.
“Unfortunately after the parade, LAPD responded to a group of young people creating a disturbance and there are reports of a stabbing towards the end of the parade route that remains under investigation,” Mayor Karen Bass said in a statement.
The victim was reportedly taken to a nearby hospital, although details about his condition are unknown
