Brooklyn Beckham spoke out directly for the first time about the months-long feud that has fractured his famous family.
Beckham, 26, addressed the drama within his family — which has left him estranged from his parents, David and Victoria, and his younger brothers, Romeo and Cruz — while competing in the Ryder Cup Celebrity All-Star Match on Wednesday, September 24.
“Everyone is always going to say rubbish,” Brooklyn told the Daily Mail. “I just try and do this, play some golf with some friends. It’s good fun.”
When asked how he managed to navigate all of the public conversation surrounding his family this year, Brooklyn gave a nod to his wife, Nicola Peltz-Beckham.
“There’s always going to be people saying negative things but I have a very supportive wife,” Brooklyn said. “Me and her, we just do our thing. We just keep our heads down and work. And we’re happy.”
Brooklyn and Nicola, 30, got married in 2022. The couple renewed their vows on August 2, Us Weekly exclusively reported at the time. No members of Brooklyn’s immediate family attended the ceremony.
After competing in the celebrity golf tournament at Farmingdale, New York’s Bethpage Black golf course, Brooklyn said he was high-tailing it back to Los Angeles, where he and Nicola recently purchased a new home.
“’I have to go back,” he said. “I left my wife with our four dogs on her own, so I have to go back and help out and get back to work.”
In 2023, Brooklyn launched a line of hot sauces called Cloud 23, and he often shows off his cooking skills on Instagram.
Despite the current chaos within his family, Brooklyn insisted he “never” worries about what people say about his personal life.
The Beckham family has been at an impasse since David’s 50th birthday party in May.
Brooklyn and Nicola chose not to attend the festivities, largely in an effort to avoid interacting with Romeo’s then-girlfriend, Kim Turnbull, a source exclusively told Us Weekly. Brooklyn has not spoken directly to his family since.
In June, a source told Us that David and his wife, Victoria Beckham, “went from being sad and devastated to now accepting it and realizing there is nothing they can do” when it comes to their relationship with Brooklyn.
“They are done speaking about it,” the insider added. “They view it as the way it is now. The ball is in Brooklyn’s court if he wants to make up.”
Brooklyn did extend an olive branch to his sister, Harper, when she celebrated her 14th birthday in July.
“Happy birthday Harper,” Brooklyn wrote via his Instagram Story on behalf of himself and Nicola. “We love u x.”
