Brother finds sister’s dismembered body in Florida yard — thinks she was eaten by her ‘hungry’ dogs

A Florida woman found dismembered and decomposing in her backyard appears to have been ripped apart and partially eaten by her three starving dogs, according to her brother who stumbled across the gruesome scene.

Alejandro Llanes found the remains of his 58-year-old sibling, Areles Llanes, at her home in Cape Coral on Monday after not hearing from her in weeks — and initially thought the body parts were “a pig, like an animal,” he told WBBH.

“No legs, no arms. It was like a big bag of skin. It was like, ‘God, I can’t believe what I’m looking at and seeing,’” the grieving brother recalled.

“It was a piece of a person. It was not even the full body because no legs, no arms.”

Llanes believes his sister died from poor health — before at some point her three dogs started “eating her.”

“What happened is she was she was not living a healthy life, like drinking a lot of wine, not eating properly,” Llanes said.

“She probably collapsed in the backyard and after like a week, those dogs that were hungry are animals. They need to survive. They just start eating her.”

Llanes added that dog feces and filth covered the inside of his sister’s squalid home.

It wasn’t immediately clear exactly when Areles died.

Her brother said relatives had been trying to reach her for weeks.

“We’ve been calling and no answer,” Llanes said, adding relatives last heard from her in December.

Police are still probing Areles’ death and have said it is not thought to be suspicious.

Meanwhile, her three dogs are currently being evaluated by local animal control authorities.

The Post reached out to the local police department but didn’t hear back immediately.
