Colton Underwood and Kaitlyn Bristowe are teaming up for a brand-new show centered on a group of virgins.
Hulu announced Are You My First? on Monday, July 21, describing the reality series as a “new dating experiment where virgins navigate love, lust and losing it.”
“In this groundbreaking new dating experiment, the largest, hottest group of virgins ever assembled search for intimacy, love — and maybe their first — in a tropical paradise designed just for them,” the synopsis read.
The synopsis continued, “For the first time, they’re free to explore their connections without judgment, allowing these sexy young singles to embark on a heated yet heartfelt journey packed with romantic dates, revealing challenges, and new love interests eager to find ‘the one.’ Who will find that special someone? And who will go home hot, bothered and heartbroken?”
Are You My First? will not be Kaitlyn’s first hosting gig. After appearing on both The Bachelor and The Bachelorette, Kaitlyn cohosted season 17 of The Bachelorette alongside Tayshia Adams in 2021.
Colton, meanwhile, became widely known as the “Virgin Bachelor” when he was named the lead of season 23. Colton ultimately ended the show in a relationship with Cassie Randolph, later playing coy about whether the pair were intimate in the show’s famed fantasy suites.
“It’s something that we’re going to keep to ourselves,” Colton said during the 2019 live finale of The Bachelor, to which former host Chris Harrison teased back, “I’ll take that as a yes.”
In his 2020 memoir, The First Time: Finding Myself and Looking for Love on Reality TV, Colton opened up about the reason for his virginity and noted that he was waiting until he was in love to have sex.
“That became my safe zone,” he wrote in the book. “Sometimes I wonder if my life would have been much easier if I had been gay. Maybe it would’ve helped me to know myself better and sooner. Maybe I wouldn’t have stayed a virgin. Maybe I wouldn’t have asked ‘Who am I?’ as often as I did and suffered as much angst because I didn’t have an answer. Identity was such a big question mark with me. Yes, I was a football player. But what else was I? Was there anything more?”
Colton publicly came out as gay in 2021, debuting his relationship with Jordan C. Brown in Netflix’s Coming Out Colton. The couple tied the knot in 2023 and welcomed their first baby via surrogate the following year.
Are You My First? premieres on Monday, August 18, on Hulu in the U.S. and Disney+ internationally.
