Corey Kluber, whose lone season with the Yankees featured the first no-hitter of his career but more than three months on the injured list, has agreed to a one-year deal with the Rays.
The two-time Cy Young Award winner agreed to a contract worth $8 million plus incentives with Tampa Bay, according to Post baseball columnist Joel Sherman. The Athletic first reported the deal Sunday morning.
The 35-year-old Kluber tossed a no-hitter against the Rangers on May 19 before going on the injured list later that month with a right shoulder strain. He returned in late August and finished the season with a 5-3 record, a 3.83 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 80 innings over 16 starts.
Kluber had made only eight starts over the previous two seasons with Cleveland and Texas before the Yankees signed him to a one-year deal worth $11 million for 2021.
The Yankees currently have starters Gerrit Cole and Luis Severino under contract for 2022, with Jordan Montgomery and Jameson Taillon eligible for arbitration and Nestor Cortes also under team control.
