Costco shoppers are raisin the bar on their dessert ingredients.

A debate over whether or not raisins belong in carrot cake is taking place on social media after food influencer @photogami reviewed the beloved Costco Carrot Bar Cake.

According to the content creator’s review, the new $19 sweet treat is beautifully baked — but has raisins among its list of ingredients.

“Wait, what is this?” the influencer asked in disbelief. “Oh no. It’s a raisin.”

While @photogami gave the cake a good review overall, but said his “one big downside” is that “I don’t think carrot cakes should have raisins in it.”

The declaration instantly sparked debate in the comment section of the clip, as well as on Reddit.

“Adding raisins to baked goods is proof that villains walk among us,” one detractor declared.

“Why people are obsessed with ruining carrot cake with raisins is beyond me. It’s like putting olives on pizza,” another commented.

“Really like raisins, BUT they DO NOT belong in carrot cake,” another hater wrote.

However, others vehemently defended the inclusion of the ingredient.

“Raisins only enter my body accompanied by carrot cake, I assume it was the standard lol,” one wrote.

“Nuts, raisins and pineapple belong in carrot cake. Sorry not sorry,” someone commented.

“Bro raisins ate the best part of the cake,” another declared.

“Original and more authentic recipes all have raisins,” a user said.
