Craig Conover has a message about negativity and how to turn that mindset around.
In a video shared to his Instagram Stories on Saturday, March 29, Conover discussed anexperience he had during a recent trip to Denver, Colorado. According to the Southern Charm star, he was about to deliver a speech when his assistant told him a mom and her 8-year-old son wanted to meet him because she wasn’t sure if her son, who has muscular dystrophy, would be able to “make it through the speech.”
Conover explained that he met with the family backstage. While speaking, Conover said the young boy began to cry “because he was in so much pain just sitting in his wheelchair. ” The moment, he explained, stuck with him and gave him some necessary perspective.
“So the next time you want to be negative, just do like 10 pushups or something, go out for a walk, but just stay positive,” he concluded.
Conover, who has been navigating a very public split from Paige DeSorbo, has a reason to see the bright side of things these days. Recently, the social media star has been chatty about his newest relationship with Natalie Buffett. He shared the news on Thursday, March 27, during an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen.
“I’m very happy,” Conover said, revealing there is a new special person in his life.
“When I date, I tend to date only one person at a time,” Conover explained. “I’ve been seeing someone. I’ve been reminded that the universe works in crazy ways, and everything happens for a reason.”
Conover recently ended his three-long relationship with DeSorbo, who he began dating in the summer of 2021. She announced their break-up in December 2024. In the months that have followed, they have each accused the other of cheating. DeSorbo specifically accused Conover of texting other women — something he has denied. DeSorbo has also denied she ever cheated on Conover.
During the Southern Charm season 10 reunion, which aired in part on Thursday, March 27, Conover claimed that the person DeSorbo has been “since the breakup isn’t the person I remember dating.” He noted during his WWHL appearance on Thursday that he’s now “focused on moving forward.”
Conover also recently revealed he took the engagement ring he bought DeSorbo back to the jeweler. “I just returned it this morning,” he told host Andy Cohen. “Diamonds are down right now so [the jeweler] was like, ‘Do you care if I hold it?’ I just don’t need custody of it anymore so I took it back to the guy.”
Fans learned of the potential engagement two months after the pair’s December breakup, when he said, “I’m gonna propose. She asked me to buy her a ring and, like, I did,” in a Southern Charm preview.
