David Beckham’s former assistant Rebecca Loos claimed she “never lied” about having an alleged affair with her boss.

In a video interview with 60 Minutes Australia, published on Sunday, March 30, Loos, 47, reflected on her alleged fling with David, 49, which first made headlines around the world in April 2004. (David was married to Victoria Beckham at the time, after tying the knot in July 1999.)

“It was a very brave thing to do, to go up against them,” Loos told the outlet. “I have stuck to the truth, I’ve never exaggerated. I never lied about a single thing. Why? Because I’m going up against the strongest, most powerful couple in the media. And all I had on my side was the truth.”

David has denied all cheating allegations over the years, however acknowledged in the 2023 Netflix documentary, Beckham, that he and Victoria, 50, experienced significant hardship when news of his alleged affair first broke.

Us Weekly has reached out to a representative for David for comment.

Loos, who is now married to a doctor with whom she shares two teenage boys with, recalled how the pair’s alleged romance started shortly after she was hired to be the athlete’s personal assistant in 2003. David had just moved from the U.K. to Spain to play football for Real Madrid.

Loos told the outlet that she and David had been in a nightclub when he allegedly asked her to join him in a hotel room. “He just kept looking at me and I gave in,” Loos claimed. “The way he looks at you … it’s quite hard not to. He’s got a certain charismatic power about him. He’s very good looking and he can easily get what he wants. And he knows it.”

Despite admitting that she knew it “was naughty,” Loos added that she was “hooked” and claimed the pair were intimate “just a few times.”

Loos also detailed why she originally spoke out about the alleged fling just one month after the initial allegations broke and photos of Loos and David chatting in a nightclub surfaced. Loos, who was 26 at the time, told 60 Minutes that she hoped to retain control over the situation, while also seeking a sense of justice.

“I always had the opinion … it’s better that it comes from me and that I have some sort of control,” Loos started. “Also, by doing that, it was a way of me, sort of, not getting back at him but … the way he treated me was very unfair, what he was getting away with, and that two-faced life. I know how much his image means to him. I want him to feel some pain too, I guess.”
