WASHINGTON — Democrats ripped former first son Hunter Biden over a pair of podcast interviews released Monday in which he ranted against party leaders and high-profile donors for forcing his dad out of the 2024 race while misrepresenting the “shady” facts of his own criminal trials.
“My stomach churns. At seeing a foul-mouthed Hunter Biden attack the world,” ex-Bill Clinton adviser Mark Penn posted on X after the 55-year-old Biden scion went scorched earth on the Democratic establishment.
“Hunter Biden continues to personify loss in a way that mainly helps Republicans,” a well-positioned Democratic source told The Post Tuesday. “It’s a sad fact we should move on from instead of trying to troubleshoot.”
“The laptop may have been from hell, but Democrats will remain in political purgatory the longer Hunter stays in the limelight,” the source added. “It’s time to say farewell to his headlines, while genuinely wishing him well.”
Other Dem sources said that the former first son’s antics weren’t even a “blip” in their conversations with party insiders and the blow-up seemed mostly contained to social media.
The younger Biden sat for a total of nearly four and a half hours with ex-Democratic National Committee chair Jaime Harrison and YouTube personality Andrew Callaghan in interviews put out on the anniversary of former President Joe Biden ending his re-election campaign.
In the Callaghan interview, Hunter aimed f-bombs at Hollywood star George Clooney and other party bosses, accusing them of interfering in the democratic process.
“They’d already made a decision,” Hunter explained of senior Democrats’ response to his father’s stumbling debate performance in June 2024, which led to the 46th president removing himself from the 2024 ticket. “And when I say ‘they,’ I mean ‘the Speaker [Nancy Pelosi].’”
“I heard Alexandra Pelosi say … ‘put your big girl pants on,’ to my mom [Jill Biden] or something, and I kind of feel like saying, ‘Who the f–k do you think you are?’ I would never speak about your mom that way,” raged the former first son to Harrison.
Hunter also downplayed his dad’s debate debacle, saying the then-president was “tired” and on sleeping pills.
“They give him Ambien to be able to sleep and he gets up on the stage and looks like a deer in the headlights,” he told Callaghan.
The ex-president’s son also defended his father’s record — despite the elder Biden leaving office with a record-low approval rating — and suggested that if he were to ascend to the heights of political power in the US he would consider invading El Salvador to reverse the Trump administration’s deportations.
Hunter further discussed his addiction to crack, which played a part in his conviction on federal gun charges last year, and how he learned how to cook his own — before denying that cocaine found in the West Wing in July 2023 was his.
“People think of crack as being dirty — it’s the exact opposite,” he said.
In a prolonged tirade, Hunter rounded on veteran Democratic strategist James Carville and former President Barack Obama’s longtime adviser David Axelrod, as well as the “junior f–king speechwriters” who now run the “Pod Save America” podcast.
“You’re not the f–king victim here,” snapped back Tommy Vietor, one of those former speechwriters, on their latest podcast episode.
“What if we just stipulate for the hypothetical,” Vietor went on, “all of your business dealings were above board and legal, all your paintings were purchased by art lovers who loved the product and didn’t know your name, Trump is worse — you were on the board of Burisma because of who your dad is and that is what people hate about Washington.”
“You got a pardon. You’re fine,” added fellow ex-Obama scribe Jon Favreau. Last December, the younger Biden was also granted sweeping clemency by his father for tax and gun crimes as well as any potential crimes committed between Jan. 1, 2014, and Dec. 1, 2024.
“Not one single person has ever accused me of a crime based upon anything that was in or discovered as it relates to my laptop,” Hunter also claimed — inaccurately — after special counsel David Weiss used data from its hard drive to convict him of three felony gun charges in June 2024.
“He is out of jail only because DaD [sic] pardoned him after he carried out a $20 million shakedown of shady foreign interests with the consent and participation of Joe Biden. And he paid no taxes on it. This was followed by fake painting sales,” erupted Penn, now the CEO of the marketing and communications firm Stagewell.
“His laptop was 100[%] real and what it revealed was horrific on all counts. From living with his dead brother’s wife to fueling endless cocaine binges to abusing the trust of his dad’s office no one should pay him an iota of attention.”
