Dodgers 1st Baseman Freddie Freeman Goes Trick-or-Treating 1 Night After Winning World Series

Los Angeles Dodgers star Freddie Freeman took on dad duties less than 24 hours after winning the World Series.

Freddie, 35, spent Halloween on the streets of L.A. trick-or-treating with his three sons — Freddie, 8, Brandon, 3, and Maximus, 3 — the night after the Dodgers defeated the New York Yankees in Game 5 in the Bronx. 

“One night you’re winning the World Series….The next night you’re trick or treating with your kids. 🎃 👻,” Freddie’s wife, Chelsea Freeman, shared via Instagram on Thursday, October 31. 

Freddie and Chelsea’s boys dressed up as superheroes for the big night — Freddie as Iron Man, Brandon as The Hulk and Max as Spider-Man — and posed under a giant balloon display outside their home before scooping up candy in the neighborhood. 

Chelsea revealed the family took an overnight flight back home after the victory in New York, which saw the crew get just two hours of sleep.

“Wish us luck,” Chelsea said via her Instagram Story about their Halloween plans. 

In a video shared by Chelsea, Max — who was diagnosed with Guillain-Barré syndrome, a rare neurological disorder, earlier this year — could be seen holding his father’s hand as he made his way to a neighbor’s door. 

Freddie shared a video via Instagram in September of Max learning to walk again, exactly exactly two months after he was rushed to the hospital. 

After the Dodgers won the World Series on Wednesday, October 30, Chelsea opened up about Max’s journey. 

“It’s an absolute roller-coaster of our emotions,” she said in a postgame interview. “We were at our ultimate low and then, to be here today is the ultimate high.”

Chelsea continued, “I’m so proud of him [from] everything that we’ve gone through as a family this year and all of his injuries. He’s Superman actually, but we’re so happy.”

In addition to being a night to celebrate all that Max has accomplished, Halloween turned into a serendipitous affair for a young fan named Ozzy who ran into Freddie while dressed as the baseball star. 

“Found him!” the boy’s mother wrote alongside a picture of her son and Freddie, which was shared via her Instagram Story by the Dodgers’ first baseman. “Ozzy decided last week he no longer wanted to be Pokemon and insisted on being Freddie Freeman instead. Never thought I’d say this, but the $100 jersey I overnighted was worth every penny.”

The young fan’s mom ended the post by tagging Freddie and writing, “Thank you for a Halloween moment this boy will remember forever and ever.”
