Up-and-coming “College GameDay” personality Harry Lyles Jr. will be off the show Saturday because of a DUI arrest after last week’s program in Los Angeles, The Post has learned.
“I deeply regret what occurred and take full responsibility for my actions,” Lyles Jr. wrote in a statement shared on Twitter. “I have and will continue to fully cooperate with authorities and look forward to resolving this expeditiously.”
Lyles Jr. is a sideline reporter on ESPN’s Thursday night college games and hosts GameDay’s social media edition every Saturday. He also is a writer for ESPN.com.
LAPD Hollywood division said in a tweet on Sunday, “Last night, 2 of our officers were stopped at a marked crosswalk as a pedestrian crossed the street. While they were stopped, a vehicle rear ended the back of their car. The driver of that car vehicle was 3 x the legal limit and subsequently arrested.”
An LAPD spokesman confirmed to The Post it was Lyles. His bail was set at $100,000. He was released on bond. He is due in court on Feb. 24.
ESPN’s crew was in Los Angeles for Oregon’s win over UCLA.
“We are aware of the situation and are addressing the matter directly,” ESPN said in a statement.
