The former Trump White House aide being sued by Hunter Biden over leaks of his infamous laptop is refusing to let the financially challenged former first son drop the case — calling it an “abuse of the legal system.”

In an unusual move, Garrett Ziegler said he’s going to fight Biden’s request to dismiss the lawsuit accusing Ziegler of illegally hacking and circulating the embarrassing contents of the political scion’s notorious laptop.

Biden on Wednesday asked a federal judge to voluntarily dismiss his 2023 lawsuit against Ziegler, saying he’s millions of dollars in debt, in part, because no one is buying his artwork or memoir.

“Hunter wants to cry uncle,” Ziegler raged in a comment to The Post Thursday. “We are OPPOSING that. We want our attorney’s fees to be paid, for Hunter to cease lying about us and me, and just generally to shut the f–k up.”

“This is an abuse of the legal system. It can’t stand. Our tiny nonprofit had to scrape together legal fees for nearly 2 years to deal with this Peter Pan-like manchild.”

Ziegler, an aide to President Trump’s trade adviser Peter Navarro, published nearly 10,000 photos from Biden’s laptop online.

In September, Biden won a major ruling against Ziegler, who was ordered to fork over $17,929 to Hunter for what it cost him to fight Ziegler’s unsuccessful motion to have Hunter’s case tossed out.

It’s unusual for a defendant in a lawsuit to put up a fight when a plaintiff is willingly seeking to drop claims against them.

Ziegler’s lawyer Robert Tyler told The Post by email that the September ruling against Ziegler has no bearing on whether Hunter would ultimately win at trial.

Hunter Biden said he wanted to drop the lawsuit because he’s broke, in debt and lost his home in the Los Angeles wildfires.

“None of the prior proceedings are determinative as to whether Hunter Biden’s allegations are truthful or whether our clients violated any laws in exposing Hunter Biden’s escapades and influence peddling,” Tyler said.

Biden — who was convicted on gun and tax charges only for his famous dad to pardon him before leaving office — wants to drop the litigation against Ziegler claiming he’s deeply in debt and lost his rental home in the Los Angeles wildfires.

But he said he still believes he has a solid case against Ziegler — “especially considering” Ziegler admitted he “hacked plaintiff’s iCloud,” Hunter’s lawyers wrote in the filing.

Still, Biden “does not have the resources to continue to litigate this matter,” the court documents said.

Biden’s lawyer noted that the case was moving extremely slowly and had made very little progress, considering that Ziegler’s side allegedly only turned over its first batch of discovery to Biden’s side on Jan. 31 and that he only served a deposition request to Biden on Feb. 11.

All of this means that the case is likely to drag on with Biden being forced to continue to shell out money to his lawyers.

Hunter Biden’s laptop went public exposing embarrassing photos of him partying hard with prostitutes and using drugs.

And Ziegler wasn’t deprived of the chance to defend his side since he “already took the opportunity to attack” Biden’s case “but lost,” Biden’s court papers said.

A judge must determine whether to grant Biden’s request to dismiss the case or whether to hear arguments from Ziegler about why it should continue.

Tyler, Ziegler’s lawyer, claimed Hunter and his one-time “sugar brother” Kevin Morris had blown off depositions scheduled for last week and had failed to turn over discovery in the case.

“We believe that Hunter Biden’s failure to produce documents and refusal to attend his deposition reveals that he is running scared and probably afraid for any further discovery of information that would be harmful to him and his father,” Tyler said.

Hunter was convicted of illegally owning a gun while hooked on drugs and he pleaded guilty in a second case to evading $1.4 million in taxes. Data taken from his laptop was used in both cases.

He faced up to 25 years behind bars for the gun case and another 17 years in the tax case before former President Joe Biden issued the pardons.

Lawyers for Biden didn’t immediately return a request for comment Thursday.
