Lauren Jauregui is still close with three of her former Fifth Harmony bandmates.

“We saw each other a couple weeks ago, actually,” Jauregui, 28, told Us Weekly exclusively while attending Billboard‘s Women in Music event at the YouTube Theater at Hollywood Park on Saturday, March 29.

Jauregui also gushed to Us over being a member of the girl group, which was recently named one of Billboard’s Top 100 Women Artists of the 21st Century. (Fifth Harmony came in at No. 97 on the list.)

“To be a part of [Fifth Harmony] was an honor,” she said. “As much of a curse as it was a gift. In the best ways, it was a gift for me, actualizing myself and understanding myself and also contributing to the world in such a beautiful way.”

Jauregui added, “So many young people were so beautifully impacted by us and our story. So, I’m really grateful to have been a part of it.”

Fifth Harmony was formed in 2012 during the second season of The X Factor U.S. with Jauregui, Ally Brooke, Normani, Dinah Jane and Camila Cabello. “Some of the girls and I are definitely still in contact,” Jauregui told Us on Saturday. “The four of us are definitely still vibing.”

As for her solo music, the singer teased that her debut album is coming this year.

“She’s finally done. I’m just weaving everything together right now,” Jauregui said. “I think people will be pleasantly surprised to hear it because it’s giving an alternative world. I’m very angsty about everything, my own life, about the world around me. I got a lot to say, so I’m saying a lot.”

When it came to her creative process, Jauregui told Us that she was just “letting things flow” out of her.

“Also, [I’m] giving myself deadlines so that I commit myself to completion,” she added. “Because for a long time, my process in that flow gets a little scattered sometimes. I’ve really put pins in, I want this done by this date, and I want to do this by this date. And holding myself accountable to those pins.”
