Gerry Turner Dated ‘Golden Bachelor’ Ex After Theresa Nist Divorce, Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts Claim

The Golden Bachelor’s Gerry Turner allegedly struck up a romance with a former contestant following his divorce from Theresa Nist.

In the Wednesday, August 20, episode of the “Bachelor Happy Hour” podcast, fellow stars Susan Noles and Kathy Swarts brought up Gerry’s alleged relationship with Christina Kempton in an interview with Theresa, 72.

“Theresa, I think you know, Gerry dated Christina from our show for a while after…” Kathy, 72, said.

While Theresa said she “now” knew the info, she claimed that she was “actually the one who suggested he go out with Christina,” which happened “a while ago.”

“So did Susan, so did I. So we’re all on the same page. They went out for, like, six months,” Kathy said, to which Theresa appeared surprised again. “I didn’t know that,” Theresa replied.

Kathy further claimed that Christina read “part” of Gerry’s upcoming memoir, Golden Years: What I’ve Learned from Love, Loss, and Reality TV, which is set to hit shelves in November.

“And I said, ‘He better have said nice things about all of us,’” Kathy quipped. Theresa, meanwhile, said she hasn’t read the book yet.

Us Weekly reached out to Gerry for comment.

Gerry, 73, served as the first-ever Golden Bachelor in 2023, where he pursued relationships with Theresa, Christina, Susan, Kathy and more women. Christina was eliminated during the show’s third week, while Susan and Kathy departed ahead of hometowns. Theresa, meanwhile, ultimately accepted a proposal from Gerry in the finale and the pair tied the knot in early 2024.

Three months after exchanging vows, Gerry and Theresa announced their decision to part ways. Us confirmed in June 2024 that the exes had signed a marital settlement agreement. Since their split, Gerry has publicly moved on with girlfriend Lana Sutton.

After sharing his relationship update with TMZ, Gerry shared photos with Lana via Instagram.
“I can’t believe how many people in Charleston recognized us and wished us the best,” he wrote.

Before Gerry shared the news of his relationship, he gave Theresa a heads-up about his love life. “He said, ‘I just wanna let you know I met someone.’ I said, ‘That’s wonderful. I’m so happy for you.’ He goes, ‘I was afraid to tell you.’ ‘Why would you be afraid? I only want your happiness.’ Like, if this was the way it happened for him to find his person to go on the show, get married, and then find his person this way, then it was meant to be,” Theresa told Us.

Theresa, meanwhile, gave an update on her love life in July. “Nothing is solidified yet. I’m keeping my options open,” Theresa exclusively told Us. “I want to take my time. I don’t want to rush into anything.”
