Gold and silver rates today, September 06

The 24-carat gold rate in India was Rs 72,060 per 10 grams on September 05. The rate for 24-carat gold per gram is Rs 7,206. The rate of 22-carat gold was Rs 66,055 per 10 grams.

The rate of 24-carat gold has risen by 0.4% in the last one week, and the yellow metal has risen by 0.2% in the last ten days. The silver currently quotes at Rs 84,740 per kilogram.

“Total known global gold ETF holdings edged slightly lower, though continue to hover around the highest level since mid-February. Gold is expected to trade range-bound ahead of the weekly jobless, US ADP employment change and ISM services data to be released today. Upcoming Friday’s nonfarm payroll data will also be crucial as these data are likely to set the pace of the Fed rate cuts,” said  Praveen Singh, Associate Vice President of Fundamental Currencies and Commodities at Sharekhan by BNP Paribas.

The gold MCX futures contracts with the expiry of October 2024 were quoting for Rs 71,985 per 10 gm, an increase of Rs 68. While the futures contracts for silver with the September 2024 expiry on MCX futures were trading at Rs 84,998 per kg, an increase of Rs 42.
