A young grandmother’s body was found with her head gulped inside a 23-foot python’s mouth shortly after she disappeared while tending to the gardens near her home in Indonesia.

Wa Siti, a 55-year-old grandmother, mysteriously vanished while she was out gardening, according to a report. One of her sons, Saimin, called family over to help search for her when he noticed she had left her basket abandoned in the yard.

“I was always worried about her working on the farm. I have seen big snakes before. She had worked on the farm since she was a little girl, so she was not afraid. She would always have her basket with her, so I knew something was wrong,” Saimin said, according to The Sun.

One of her other sons, La Faru, stumbled across a 23-foot python with his mother’s upper body wedged in its gullet, the outlet reported.

Wa Siti’s head was swallowed up by the snake’s mouth and her face was coated in thick slime when rescuers finally got her out of its grip. By that point, she was already dead, Indonesian Police Inspector One Hardi said.

In October 2022, another grandmother met the same fate as Wa Siti in an eerily similar way.

Jahrah, 54, failed to return home from working at a plantation. The following day, her husband learned that a 22-foot python swallowed her whole.
